Storied History
Haddad's Ocean Cafe is an iconic family-owned restaurant located in the Brant Rock section of Marshfield, Massachusetts.
Established in 1937, the restaurant has continually been operated by four generations of the Haddad family. The restaurant's original owner was Louis Haddad. Louis ran the restaurant from 1937 until his death in 1959.
After his death, two of Louis' nephews, George Haddad and Hal Haddad, took over the business. Upon Hal's death in 1976, George Haddad became the sole owner. George operated the business until his death in 1986. After George's death, his three sons, Chuck, Mitch, and George assumed ownership.
As of 2011, Chuck and Mitch are the two owners of the business.
The restaurant is renowned throughout Marshfield and the South Shore for serving the freshest, locally caught seafood at very affordable prices. Over the past 20 years the restaurant has won many local awards and readers choice opinion polls, including best seafood restaurant in Marshfield for the past 10 years. Business at the restaurant has continued to thrive despite the recent downturn in the economy.
In the spring of 2011, plans for a new Haddad's Ocean Cafe were proposed. Our new restaurant now seats 391 people and features a state-of-the-art function room, as well as an outdoor second level deck with ocean and harbor views.
Our new and improved Haddad's Ocean Cafe opened for business in December 2012, bringing beautiful new amenities and breath-taking views of the ocean and Green Harbor, along with outdoor bar and dining to our faithful customers. We are proud to offer the same fantastic service and quality that we've been providing for the past 75 years in our new restaurant!
